Old Song, New MCR

My love for My Chem has kinda gone by the wayside. They haven't released any new music in ages and their murder/death/army aesthetic has worn thin. But, I have to say, watching them give the electric shock treatment to Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row" for the upcoming Watchmen movie soundtrack has made me smile.

Did you see the On-the-Scene Report about last night's My Chemical Romance concert that I wrote for Philebrity this afternoon? No?

Well, check it out!

The show was fantastic, except for the totally awful crowd. Taking Back Sunday did a surprise set that knocked my socks off. Gerard Way was totally hot except for when he did these little effeminate hip shake flourishes. I cringestormed.

A huge thanks goes out to Joey and Ruth for hooking me up. It was a total blast, even if I had to hang out with hillbillies for a night. And, thanks to my sister Rachel for rocking out with me.

Totally "Teenagers"

Oh yes! The new video for the song "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance is up. It's like part-"Smells Like Teen Spirit" mayhem and part-tickertape freakout. In short, I love it.



Gerard made some good calls here: he let his hair stay black (good work), he also let it get a bit shaggy (nice!), he is wearing a hoodie (that's superhot). He's Foxy McFoxerson, I say.

Vixen Fixin

I need to get my mojo back. I'm hoping that this change in weather will bring a change in attitude. It just seems like more things are possible with the sunlight on our backs.

Word on the street is that Nicole will be making an appearance on Friday night. That pretty much guarantees an insane time. Last time she was in town, we ended up at a house party in Northern Liberties until, like, insane o'clock. I don't remember much, but the pictures are pretty hysterical.

I'm also in a good mood because Jenna will be joining me to see my other favorite band, My Chemical Romance, on Sunday. If Gerard Way can't lift my spirits, than nothing can. I mean, just look at him:



I'm also also in a good mood because I talked to my girl Courtney and she is coming out to spend some time in Philly with me in May. It's looking like we are going to need a Queen's night to welcome her to the city of brotherly love. As long as my roommate Nick dons something with breakway pants, the party will be started right. I am still trying to figure out when I can get away to Chicago to see her and the boys again. Hopefully I can firm up plans within the week.
