Formal album releases take so much time to prepare, I'd like to announce the release of Truant Wave, a digital EP I've put together of songs I felt strongly about but didn't have place for within the narrative of Soul Punk. Having recorded Soul Punk as the sole performer and writer, creating Truant Wave also presented a welcome opportunity for me to work with some of my gifted friends on my solo material. Feeling Nostalgic
I LOVED this band the Mushuganas in high school You don't even know. It's making me excited to go home to Chicago next week. Yay!
It's A Nutty Thing
To watch a random kid I knew in high school have his divorce not only make national news, but be splashed across every tabloid in every supermarket aisle. I didn't care for him much in high school because he always struck me as a poser, which sounds ridiculous now but when you're 17, things like that take on an absurd significance.
Regardless, I'm not 17 anymore and I know that at the end of the day we're all just humans with our own struggles and challenges. No one should have to endure having their personal life invaded like that. What a mess.

I have a new crush. He plays Chris on the BBC version of the show Skins. Sometimes he makes faces that remind me of a chimpanzee BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER because his character is my favorite kind of guy: brazen, scrappy, and a closet romantic. His whole storyline of falling in love with his teacher gave me butterflies. Just look at his little face:

Having A Word
Besides cuddling up with Charlie and drooling over adorable short guys, blogging is my favorite thing to do on the planet. I love all of it. I love creating content and I love finding content to share. Between Shlooby Kitten and Shmitten Kitten and my Twitter and my SK Facebook and my top secret special blog for Jenna's eyes only, I realize that I probably blog more than most people. Wait, I didn't even count this blog in that list! How can I forget you, ol' Cupcake Brigade? Sorry, dude. Add Cupcake Brigade to that pile.
I just wish that my favorite thing to do had a different word because "blog" sounds so unappealing. Blog sounds like a contraction of the words bulimic and Frogger. I cringe every time I say it. Can't we call writing on the web something more pleasant? I like words such as tinker or pillow or treat or drizzle. Can't I have a word like that to describe what I do? Any ideas, guys?
