Lady J Meets Lo Mein
Here's a little video of my little niece, Julianna, eating lo mein for the first time. Aaaaaaaand, it's freakin' adorable.
I See
“I met Iggy Pop at Max’s Kansas City in 1970 or 1971. Me, Iggy, and Lou Reed at one table with absolutely nothing to say to each other, just looking at each others' eye makeup.”For some reason, it amuses me up to think of rock's edgiest men enamored with each others' eye shadow application. Right on, gentlemen. Right fucking on.

This Gives Me Major Flashbacks To Sixth Grade
Like, MAJORLY.
Apparently, someone adapted the game Girl Talk into a talk show. Makes sense, right? Well, apparently sixth grade girls talking about things that interest sixth grade girls is kinda boring. It's like an issue of Teen Beat come to life. Soleil Moon Frye is the guest host with appearances by Brian Robbins from Head of the Class and New Kids on the Block. I probably would've loved this when I was little now that I think about it. Watching it now, it just reaffirms my belief that sixth grade girls shouldn't wear neckties, like, ever.

The Boss By A Buzz Band
Here's Vampire Weekend doing an acoustic cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm Going Down." I've been listening to Bruce a lot lately so it raised my eyebrows.
Snowstormy

I've been waiting for this weather for a while. I don't wanna leave my house for a few months. I wanna get my work done and emerge into the sunlight when the flowers start to bloom again.

Quick Survey
I just noticed that I have a few hundred readers on this blog but I have no clue who most of you guys are. A few questions:
1. Who are you? (You don't have to answer that if you don't want to.)
2. Does my blog meet your expectations? Like, do you enjoy reading it?
3. What do you wanna see more of?
4. What could you totally do without?
I'm stoked anyone takes an interest in my silly site, so I wanna make sure you guys have a good time reading it too.

Swervin' and Pervin'
I have no idea who this is, but I haven't laughed this hard in ages. It's like the fast talker guy from King of the Hill meets Vince Vaughn in Swingers. Or something. And, it's hilarious.

Today Was A Good Day
Today was pretty much epic.
- A package I've been waiting on to arrive finally came in. THANK THE LORD! Even though I don't celebrate Christmas, this is on track to be a very merry one for me. Oh my god, I'm so relieved it came.
- SK went viral. Someone "liked" one of my posts on StumbleUpon two days ago and it basically blew up. So far, I've received over
25,00035,000! hits today from people stumbling with no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. This is insane for a tiny blog like mine. This is easily the biggest day we've ever had on the site and it's just insane to see my stats flipping up like a winning slot machine jackpot.
- Oh yeah. SK isn't so tiny anymore. Today marks a huge milestone for me because I now have over one million hits. ONE FUCKING MILLION. I knew I was gonna post up a million hits this week but I thought it would take a few more days. Now with today's mania, it's already pushing well over a million hits. I can't even handle it.
- I'm getting a cool present tomorrow. Yessssss!

I Wanna Snap His Suspenders
I gave Boardwalk Empire another chance over the weekend and now I have a crush on Al Capone. Or, more accurately, I have a crush on the actor who plays him. Frankly, he's adorable. Sure, he looks like an overgrown toddler, but that's not gonna get in the way of our love. No sir. Look at that puppy face? WHO COULD RESIST? WHO WOULD WANT TO?

Thought You Guys Might Like This
I am really digging this mix I found on Dross Culture, a tumblr blog I just stumbled on. This mix was made for summer listening, but I find that it's great for this pre-winter chill we've got goin' on. Here's what the post says:
It’s time to find that summer fling thing. That thing that might make it through to the holidays, but if not, you always had that summer. I need a lady that’s whiskey rock n’ roll wrapped in summer dresses stepping on glass in her cowboy boots, a total bad ass. I can’t promise this lady diamonds and pearls; however I can promise her one thing, It’s gonna be hot. This is the soundtrack, 60 Days of Summer Mixtape.Enjoy!

We've Got A Video Here
Here's the new video for the song "We've Got A Situation Here" by The Damned Things. A new band, they are 2/5 of Fall Out Boy, 1/5 of Every Time I Die and Scott Ian from Anthrax and two other dudes who I don't remember where they're from. Sorry, guys.
I have to say, I dig the song even though I don't listen to music like this anymore. The video is hilarious and slightly political too, which is cool. My only complaint is that it seems as though the few girls in it are sex objects. It's not surprising that that's the case because most metal is just a big boys' club anyway. And who knows, maybe they are trying to be ironic by making this video practically girl-free, but as I saw the guys in the band shoot lasers out of their instruments all I could think of is how rad it would be to see a girl wield the same kind of power. I went to a women's college! What can I say? I think of things like that.
In other news, every guy I've ever seen named Keith has been a stone cold fox. Keith Buckley is no exception. He's like Taco from The League's twin brother! Fuck it. I want 'em both.

Summertime in Falltime
Here's "Summertime" off My Chem's new album. I think this might be my favorite song they've ever done. I love the lyrics, the imagery, the little flourishes: it's so easy on my ears. It's just perfect.

Worldwide Phenomenon
I really enjoyed this BBC video about the rise of the world's standard of living in the last 200 years. It illuminates global trends in a zippy, appealing way. Watch!
I've Been Listening To The New Patrick Stump Songs Non-Stop
I'm like this, seriously. Non-stop. I even sang along in the shower!

Deep Thought of the Day
“Love conquers all.”I never thought about it this way before. Hmmmm.
For centuries upon centuries, we have been misinterpreting this famed trio of words. The uninformed masses breathlessly hold up this dwarfish phrase as a justification for snogging in public squares, abandoning wives, cuckolding husbands, for the escalating divorce rate, for swards of bastard children begging for handouts in the Whitechapel and Aldgate tube stations when in fact, there is nothing remotely encouraging or cheerful about this oft-quoted phrase.
The Latin poet wrote “Amor vincit omnia” or “Love conquers all.” He did not write, “Love frees all” or “liberates” all, and therein lies the first degree of our flagrant misunderstanding. Conquer: to defeat, subjugate, massacre, cream, make mincemeat out of. Surely this cannot be a positive thing. And then he wrote, “conquers all” - not exclusively the unpleasant things, destitution, assassination, burglary, but all, including pleasure, peace, common sense, liberty and self-determination. And thus we may appreciate that Virgil’s words are not encouragement, but rather a caveat, a cue to evade, shirk, elude the feeling at all costs, else we risk the massacre of the things we hold most dear, including ones sense of self.”
