Word On The Street

Is that I have something special a-brewin'.

I Like This

My favorite singer ever Patrick Stump is asking his fans which version of his song "Spotlight" he should include on his new solo record. You can download both versions of the song on his site, PatrickStump.com, and vote on which one you like better. So far, "Spotlight (Oh, Nostalgia)" is in the lead. That's the one I voted for! Here are the two songs, in case you care:
Spotlight (New Regrets)
Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)
I have to say, I'm thrilled to see him reaching out to his fans and including them on this decision. I can't even think of a band that's done that before. Can you?

Besides the fact that I'm stoked to hear new music from him, I'm super stoked that he's breaking down his walls. When he was in FOB, he would shy away from attention. He didn't have a Twitter or Facebook page. In fact, he actively shunned any kind of social media presence. So now that he's readying his new album, it's exciting to see him communicate directly with the people who will be supporting him. A++, Patrick!

Rich told me last week that people aren't fans anymore and I looked him dead in the eye and said that it wasn't true. The proof is right here, buddy.

Every time I get my hair cut, I tell the hairdresser to make my hair big and bouncy like Barbarella.

More Michael

Here are some more official pix of MJF from the event I attended the other night. I didn't take them; they were from a photographer's website. I'm telling you, he's JUST AS HANDSOME in person! What a dreamboat!

God, I wish I was that guitar. Yowzers!

Today's Vibe

Here I am.

Dreams DO Come True

I can't believe my life lately. I am the luckiest girl on the planet because I got to attend an event for the Michael J. Fox foundation at the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC on Saturday night. As anyone who's met me knows, I've had a crush on MJF since I was a wittle bitty girl. I never in a million years would've thought that I'd have a chance to see him in person. I didn't get to meet him, but he was only a few feet away from me. You will be pleased to know that he's just as cute in person as I'd imagined! Anyways, here were a few photos I managed to snap on my phone.

I got all dolled up for the night. I had my hair done, my nails done, and got some new jewelry as well as a new dress. I even wore a pair of high heels, which was a first for me. Here I am in my hotel room before heading down to the red carpet.

Ooh la la, right? Here's my backstage pass.

I didn't walk the red carpet, but the Roots did. I watched from a few feet away. The Roots performed that night, so that's how I was able to wrangle an invite.

Here, they're killing time backstage in the green room. I got bored after a while, so we took our seats in the ballroom downstairs.

I got to snap a blurry pic of MJF from my seat. I didn't want to look like a creep, so I did it really fast. He's looking at a CD someone gave him. After this, he walked past my table and I swear to god, my heart stopped beating for a second.

I scarfed down dinner because I was starving. Aziz Ansari came over to my table and I got to meet him. I wish he could've stayed a bit because I have a feeling that we would've hit it off, but his handlers had to scoot him along. Then, the concert started. Lauryn Hill came out for a special set. She was just a force of nature; a total showstopper.

For the last song, MJF jumped on stage and played Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" with the band. It was like Marty McFly was on stage!

I'm so incredibly thankful that I got to go. Thanks, Alexis and Rich for making my dreams come true.

Little Known Fact

I named my sixth grade floor hockey team "Punky Brewster's Left Shoe."

This Is How Turtles Eat

Anyone Else Seen An Idiot Abroad?

I've been watching episodes online. I think I love almost anything Ricky Gervais has a hand in (except his movies. They're kinda boring.)

Flashback Time!

Apocalypse Hoboken was my favorite band in high school. I loved everything about them: their manic energy, their weird lyrics, the sense that anything could happen at their shows. Even now, hearing Todd's voice makes me feel like an antsy teenager ready to pogo around the room.

This is the song "Pop Sensibilities," the first song I ever heard by them off one of their early records. I had the record on the wrong speed when I first played it and it spit out of my speakers doubletime, like punky Chipmunks. Even then, I knew that this was gonna be my new favorite band. I've seen 'em more times than I can count and just watching this crude YouTube video of them puts the biggest smile on my face.

I'm pretty sure that I was at this show and I'm pretty sure that I went with Courtney and I'm pretty sure that we had an amazing time. This is their song, "Girl." It's my favorite one and I always ask them to play at it their reunion shows. I basically go insane when I hear the opening chords.

SO GOOD!

Black Tie, Blushed Cheeks

I just got invited to my first black tie event! It's in NYC at the Waldorf Astoria. I have to buy a new dress, new shoes, and get both my hair and nails done. I'm gonna go from this:

to this:

It's gonna take a team of people to make THAT happen!
