Little Known Fact

I've always hated the Simpsons.

Now I'm stuck on differences in the way we all perceive the same world.

I'm a big fan of the earliest seasons of The Simpsons and of the Tracy Ullman show from years ago where they first appeared.

In contrast, I've always hated It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Maybe it's a generational thing. Or maybe I can't get past the fact that the intended (and entirely unoriginal) title was It's Always Sunny in California on TV -- or something just as lame.

But have you seen In Treatment? I'm shocked at how much I enjoy this show about two people sitting in a room talking for 26 minutes.

No, I have not seen In Treatment. I'll have to check it out.

It's not so much that I hate the Simpsons, but I had a crummy roommate in college who worshiped the show so I developed an aversion to it partly because of my feelings towards her. So it goes!

It goes that way for me, too! It took years for me to finally appreciate Led Zeppelin because of how closely I associated the band with the burnouts and small-animal torturers who were the scourge of my middle school. To this day, two notes of any Billy Squier song will remind me of the same pack of washouts, but I don't feel compelled to rescue Everybody Wants You from that sort of oblivion.

I can't seem to get into family guy though I love the baby and the dog, and in general babies and dogs.
