I... I... I...

love this little guy. If he were mine, I'd name him, "Pip." I'll bet his meows have a British accent and that he smells like a box of tissues.

17 4 Evr

The beach carnival scene from the beginning of The Lost Boys + puppy dog eyes + bushy caterpillar-esque eyebrows + pinatas + fog machines + liberally applied hair product + fingerless gloves + H&M wardrobe + Billy Ray Cyrus cameo + a skinny scarf-wearing guy jammin' on keyboards + making a pouty face when you check yourself out in a mirror = "Seventeen Forever" by Metro Station.

With that said, I can't get enough of this song. I don't even care that it's basically a Flock of Seagulls' "Space Age Love Song" for the guyliner'd set. Observe:

See what I mean? As an aside, I'd totally do the little guitar player with the glasses on in the Seagulls. How cute is he? WOULD!

Still Funny

Like a boss.

I Would Totally Get This As A Tattoo

(that I would later regret). See the rest here.

In related news, The Ritz will be showing BTTF on the big screen starting May 2. I'm totally going.

Haha

This made me laugh.

Anna, Portrait of a Nerd

This week on Shmitten Kitten, we are having Nerd Appreciation Week. What qualifies me as an arbiter of nerds? Good question! If knowing about nerds was like karate, I'd be a black belt. I mean, I attended space camp the summer before eighth grade. (I still wear my space camp wings pin on my denim jacket. If you ask nicely, I'll show 'em to you.)

In high school, I:
  • Played clarinet in the school band and the pep band (but, only for Freshman year)
  • Was on the debate team for two years. I participated in student congress, where I had to draft mock legislation then argue it in front of my peers. That classroom smelled exactly how you'd imagine it. Yuck.
  • Was elected to student council all four years of school. I represented my homeroom well, no doubt.
  • Was in Latin club all four years of school. I was even a member of the Junior Classical League and competed in regional events. I took first place in conjugating. I'm not even kidding. I got a certificate and everything.
  • I was music director of my high school radio station senior year. They sent me to CMJ in New York City when I was 17. I have no idea why they agreed to that. AT ALL. As a bonus, it cemented my desire to go to college in New York, which I did.
See? I am Nerdy McNerdison. This week is gonna be fun.

April Showers Bring May Superpowers

My buddy Joel from Rocktits! just sent me a mix he made called "April" and I am loving it. Well done, Joel! Currently, it's the soundtrack to my Sunday night. Download it here.

In other news, I got to see Sunshine this past week. I love Sunshine. Right now, it's one of the only things that I'm looking forward to, meeting Sunshine for realz. I'll be patient. The time will go by fast. Then, Sunshine will be here and I can love it even more (well, more than I already do which is a lot!)

Kinda Cartoony

Watching this clip freaked me out. Disney, is it true? Do you really recycle clips?

This Kid Is Like Friday Night, Personified

I wanna pull a Calista Flockhart and adopt this freakin' dance visionary. Who knew that so much energy could be contained in such a little body? I mean, his genius dance moves magically transformed a carpeted suburban den into the old Silk City (when it was unbelievably fun and everyone had a carefree, sloppy good time.) This kid is the exact opposite of a wallflower. As a side note, I'd pay around $10 to high-five him.
