So, my new thing is gadgets. I've been dressing up my toolbar with bells and whistles like a pre-teen with $50 to burn at Claire's Boutique. I found this site, labpixies, which lets me download a host of gadgets all with varying degrees of usefulness. I had high hopes for the tv gadget because it lets me stream tv right at the comfort of my work desk. Oh my god how much would that rule! I could watch judge judy anytime I want! That would be amazing. Well, the application fell short of my expectations. the channels they offer are limited. And, much like tv, you can't pause a show as it airs. So, if my boss comes in to my office, I have to fumble around and stop the show altogether, which causes me to lose my place and just frustrates me. So, thank you lab pixies for replicating all the same annoyances of tv!
The breakout gadget has been the youtube one. It is a little icon on my desktop and it offers me nine little screens of the most popular videos on the network. I can even enter a search term in and watch videos right from a freestanding window. It's actually pretty awesome.
They have a NY Times crossword puzzle one that I'm gonna try and install on my mom's computer this weekend. I think she'll get a kick out of it.
Ah, yes! this weekend. Tonight is the An Albatross show at the North Star. I'm hoping that my boy Derek might show up. Derek was one of my best friends when I lived in NYC and I haven't seen him in years. It be rad to give him a hug. I think I might check it out. Rob said he'd meet up too. Oh, and Shannon is into it as well. We are gonna try out the fancy tangerine vodka she got me for my birthday. Yummy.
